Farm Animal FAQs

Learn some of the ways in which we can help you rear healthy and productive stock.

For animals that are ill .....

To get attention for a sick or injured animal just call your local surgery and they will let you know what to do.

What happens if the office is shut?

The practice offers a 24 hour emergency service 365 days a year. Just call the usual office number.

Where will the vet see my animal?

Calves, lambs and sheep are often best seen at the surgery.  Larger animals are usually visited on the farm.

For animals needing routine procedures .....

Appointments can be booked from Monday to Friday to carry out routine procedures.  We are happy to carry out dehorning, castration and foot paring in cattle and where appropriate in sheep and goats as well.

For help with herd fertility .....

We are able to offer services to help monitor and control the fertility of the herd or flock. Call the surgery to discuss the specific issues and we will make arrangements from there.

For help with planning and maintaining herd health .....

Health plans, LMCs and routine testing procedures are all carried out by our staff. Just speak to one of the vets about it and they will let you know what the next step is.
